HTML stands for Hyper Text Markup Language.

It is the standard markup language for creating Web pages.

Say for example, you want to speak to a friend of yours. Surely you would do so using a language your friend can readily understand.

Same goes for you and your new found friend — the web browser!.

That’s right, as a web developer the web browser becomes your friend and HTML is the basic language you can use to communicate with this new friend of yours. With HTML you can tell the browser

  • How to position text
  • Create sections on your web page
  • Load up images on your web page
  • Display a button
  • …and more

Just as your favorite language (if you have one ) has rules guiding it so also HTML.

Now that you know a bit about what HTML is and some of the things you can do with it, why not go on to learn more about this awesome new friend of yours?

Thankfully, there are many resources available to help you learn. One that I find very brief and easy to understand can be found at https://w3schools.com.

Thank you for reading till the end.

Bye for now 👋
